DIY Sandalwood Face Mask

Hey everyone!
As promised, 2 posts for today.

All about sandalwood!
You can use this one amazing little ingredient to create many different masks for all skin types!
It’s all natural and works amazingly well!

You find this in a powder form at a spice shop (got mine at Gorima’s)
It’s a lovely red colour and looks like this

It’s also verrrry cheap! I think I paid R10 for this packet

First, I will just a mention a few benefits of
Sandalwood for your skin
It has been used for years in Ayurvedic remedies for both cosmetic and medicinal purposes.
• It has a cooling effect on the skin, so not only will it soothe your sunburn, but it will also remove it
• Reduces and heals acne and pimples
• Improves overall complexion
• Lightens/fades scarring and blemishes
• Has anti-aging properties

Now, as I mentioned, there are numerous ways to mix it up, to suit your skins needs. Use 1 or more of the ingredient under your skin type or problem mentioned below

Dry:
Honey. Milk. Rose water. Olive and almond oil. Yogurt

Oily:
Rose water. Water. Diluted lemon juice. Cucumber juice. Yogurt

All of the above ingredients can be used if you have acne/pimples. You can also add in some turmeric/arad.
When mixed with honey, especially, it will help fade scars much faster and give you a smooth glowing complexion!

Gentle enough for daily use.
(Don’t be alarmed by the bright red colour, it won’t stain your skin so much, just wipe your face with some toner after you wash it off to remove any (light) staining.

Hope you find this helpful, if you do try it out, let us know what you think 🙂 we love feedback!

Til’ Friday. Enjoy the rest of your week

xoxo

  1. Love this!!! I’ve been using it for about 2 years, on advise from my beautician (my combo is sandle-wood powder + rose water) I believe rose water acts as a toner. I have oily skin and it matts it, clears my complexion, and fades the dreaded, acne scaring from teenage years. #amazing
