Hey ladies
Here are some of my favorite products that I’ve been constantly using and absolutely loving through the month of May (and longer)

Nivea Men’s Post Shave Balm

I know some of you guys would be completely confused as to why this is in this post

Well, you should search it on YouTube and see for yourself why you need to go out and buy yourself a bottle of this too! Lol
Thank you NikkieTutorials for this strange yet amazing discovery!

I use this as a primer and it really works to keep your makeup on for a really long time!
I swear every time I wear it and check my makeup after a couple of hours I’m completely blown away by how fresh it still looks!

So apparently because of the high Glycerine content in this product, when used as a primer, it makes your makeup stick, like glue! And so it lasts longer
So far I’ve found that it works great for both oily and dry skin, It wont dry skin out any further or accentuate dry patches and neither will it make you more oily, however it’s not gonna mattify your skin

Another reason why this is so awesome, it’s super cheap! For under R100 you get a HUGE bottle with 100ml of product!
Whereas you would pay close to, if not more that R200 for 30ml of any other primers on the market today

Give it a try, you have nothing to lose, if it doesn’t work for you, give it to the man in your life 😉

(Side Note: My hubby saw this on our dressing table the other day for the 1st time and was like 🤔 where did this come from??  haha)

And Btw, I love the scent of it.. Very manly, but does fade away a few seconds after applying, so don’t worry, you won’t end up smelling like a man all day
CATRICE Illuminating Blush in Coral Me Maybe
I can’t remember if I mentioned this in a previous favorites but anyway!

It’s really 1 of my top blush picks

It gives such a gorgeous colour and finish to the cheeks

It’s not too orange and not too pink, just my kinda colour
CATRICE High Glow Mineral Highlighting Powder in Light Infusion
Clearly CATRICE never fails to impress me

And they seem to really be stepping up their game with their new launches
This highlighter is great value for money. Definitely 1 of the best from the “drugstore”

It’s baked so it has a smooth feel to it

You get a lot of product in the pan as well
The only downside to this is the shade, I don’t think anyone with a medium skintone or darker can pull this off because it has an almost white sheen to it
Thankfully it suits my skintone just fine and I find it really flattering on me
Here’s a pic of some swatches of the blush and highlighter, taken with flash so you can see the reflect/sheen much better

Essence Eye Sorbet in 02 Illuminating Raspberry
I picked this up in a SALE basket at Dischem for only R20!

(I think because it was labeled incorrectly, it has another shade name underneath)

This is such a beautiful product

Perfect to add some oomph to your eye look

It’s basically a gel-cream with loads of glitter
My favorite way of using it is by popping some on my inner corner

But I imagine it to look stunning all over the lid for a function/special occasion

I’m also keen to check out some of the other shades available

Here’s a little swatch of the Eye Sorbet

Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara
Omg I’ll be honest and say that from the 1st time I tried this, I was completely blown away!

The claim of this mascara creating a fluttery and voluminous look is 100% true

I wasn’t surprised because I’ve seen loads of beauty gurus love this mascara and I know it’s a firm favorite/holy grail of many others

Well done Maybelline, another amazing mascara
ELF Gel Eyeliner
I’ve had this for over a year before actually using it
Lol funny story…

It was stuck! For the life of me I just could not open the damn jar!

Finally after months and months, when I was on holiday at my mums place, I asked my brother to open it for me and he did 😁 thank you bro 😉

This liner is bomb! Once it sets, it’s budge proof

It’s super pigmented and black, it’s also soft and really easy to work with, it glides on well and so you don’t end up tugging at your eyelid

BTW I now prefer using my LA Girl gel liner in my waterline and to tight line and this on my upper lash line
That’s it…

I haven’t tried out loads of products these past few months and I’ve just been going back to the ones I know and love.

There are a few more products I’ve been living but I’ve mentioned them before and didn’t wanna repeat too much
Hope you guys enjoyed this post

  1. I bought the Nivea aftershave balm because of Nikki tutorials – have never used it though. When do you apply it ? Before or after moisturizer ?

All the products reviewed sound great!

    Thanks
